HERMIONE's CAT, CROOKSHANKS

It is something of note that each of the main three characters in the Harry Potter series has a pet. What is even more unusual is that they are allowed to have their pets at school. Hogwarts rules state that students are allowed to have a pet at Hogwarts as long as it is an owl, a rat, a frog or a cat.

Harry has his pet owl Hedwig. Ron first has Scabbers the rat and later Pigwidgeon the owl. And Hermione has Crookshanks the cat.

Crookshanks is part everyday cat and part kneazle. The fact that Crookshanks is part kneazle has not been revealed in any of the Harry Potter books but has been confirmed by J.K. Rowling in quite a few interviews and on the official Harry Potter website.

Crookshanks is described as a fluffy, ginger orange cat with a flat face and a bushy tail. J.K. Rowling has said that Hermione’s cat was inspired by a real live cat that she would frequently see in the square where she took her lunch while writing the Harry Potter books. Though she never got near enough to touch the cat (she has an allergy to them) she thought that the cat would make a good companion for Hermione.

Crookshanks is, like most cats, of an independent spirit. Because of his part kneazle heritage, he also has an above average intelligence. He is also keenly aware of anyone who is using deception and will react coolly, at the least, and violently, at the most, to any acts of deception that he sees.

Hermione bought Crookshanks from Magical Menagerie while buying school supplies Diagon Alley near the beginning of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. It is unknown if Hermione is aware of Crookshanks’ kneazle background. No one was with Hermione when she bought the cat and as Hermione has not mentioned it, it is unknown what conversation transpired during the purchase of the cat. Hermone only mentions that Crookshanks had been in the shop for a long time. I would have to guess that Hermione is probably unaware of Crookshanks background.

Crookshanks reflects many of the traits that are noble in Hermione. He is intelligent, fiercely loyal to those he loves, frowns upon cheating and once he has decided that he is right about something, nothing in the world will get him to change his mind and with good reason, because he is normally right.

He also has some of Hermione’s negative characteristics. These include his bushy appearance, his stubbornness, his occasionally off turning personality and, again, the fact that when he makes up his mind that he is right, he normally is.

While I think it is lots of fun that Hermione and her friends all have pets at school, I do often wonder how certain things are taken care of. For example, where exactly is Crookshanks’ litter box and does Hogwarts provide the food for the pets or do the students have to have it delivered by owl?

Selena Gomez

One of the most popular new shows for kids on The Disney Channel is "Wizards of Waverly Place." This show hooks on to the Harry Potter theme by following a family who has supernatural powers. One of the actors on this show is 15-year-old Selena Gomez. Gomez is not new to acting. In fact, she got her start as a toddler in the Barney series. Selena Gomez was born on July 22, 1992 in New York. Her family moved to Grand Prairie, TX, where they still live. William Peter Moseley was born on April 27, 1987, in Gloucester, England, to Peter Moseley and Julie Fleming. He is the eldest of three children with a younger sister named Daisy and and younger brother named Ben. His father's name is also William's middle name.

Described by those who know him as a rather opinionated young man who knows his own mind, he wanted to be act since he was 10 years old. The young actor had a small role in Goodbye, Mr. Chips (2002) (TV) as Forrester, and he was cast as an extra in Cider with Rosie (1998) (TV). However, his big break came when he was cast in the part of Peter Pevensie in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005), picked out of thousands of boys for the role. He hopes he won't end up type-cast as Peter and to go on to carve a successful, well-rounded career in acting and directing in the future.

William completed Year 13 in 2006, with A Levels in Media Studies, English and Drama. Narnia has opened my eyes to a lot of things. I feel lucky that I'm able to travel; I'm not stuck in my hometown, meeting the same kind of girls and saying hi to the same people, week after week. There are so many interesting, intelligent girls out there.

I have a fight scene with Sergio Castellitto, the wonderful actor who plays Miraz and whom I have a lot of respect for. At first, when the fight scene was being choreographed, a lot of it was done by stunt doubles. And then Sergio came in and did some of the fight. I didn't think he would be that good. He's kind of a small man. I didn't think much was going to happen. He's always joking and laughing. But when we did the scene, his eyes lit up. He came down hard on me and he just kept going. I was ducking and diving all over. Andrew called 'Cut' and he's like, 'That was great.' Andrew asked me, 'Would you want more of those?' I was like, 'Andrew, that was real! Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince-Plot

Prior to the new term at Hogwarts, the Death Eaters attack both Muggles and Wizards. Bellatrix Lestrange goads Severus Snape to enter an Unbreakable Vow with Draco Malfoy's mother, Narcissa, assuring that Snape will protect Draco and complete the task Voldemort has assigned to Draco—the assassination of Albus Dumbledore—should the boy fail. Scarred by his experience at the Ministry of Magic with Voldemort, Harry is reluctant to return to school. Dumbledore encourages him to continue, and uses Harry's reputation to bring former professor Horace Slughorn back to teach Potions class. Dumbledore instructs Harry to develop a friendship with Slughorn in order to learn of which Dark Art that Tom Riddle—Voldemort's name while a student at Hogwarts—approached Slughorn about and which Slughorn refuses to divulge in the present. While in Diagon Alley, Harry, Ron and Hermione visit Fred and Georges new Joke shop. When leaving, they observe Draco entering Borgin and Burkes and taking part in a ritual with other Death Eaters, leaving Harry suspicious of Draco's actions. Upon arriving at the school, the students find it secured from entry by the Death Eaters.

Professor McGonagall convinces Harry and Ron to take Slughorn's Potions class; lacking the appropriate books, they take copies provided by the school. Harry finds his book, once belonging to "The Half-Blood Prince", to be annotated with additional instructions and spellcraft that allow him to get ahead in class, making him the teacher's pet. Ron becomes the successful Gryffindor's Quidditch keeper, attracting the love of Lavender Brown, much to Hermione's chagrin, while Harry is similarly distraught over Ginny's attraction to Dean Thomas. While on Christmas break with the Weasleys at their Burrow, Bellatrix Lestrange and Fenrir Greyback attack, set the Burrow on fire, and attempt to kidnap Harry, but Mr. Weasley, Remus and Tonks and the others defend against it. Harry becomes concerned of the well-being of those that he cares about.

Harry continues to follow Draco around the school on his earlier suspicions but cannot deduce Draco's plan. Unbeknownst to Harry, Draco has placed a Vanishing Cabinet inside the Room of Requirement, and has attempted to perfect its use. Harry suspects Draco as being behind two attempts on Dumbledore's life: one through a lethal necklace that Katie Bell, under an Imperius Curse, was bringing to Dumbledore as a gift, and another through a bottle of poisoned wine that Slughorn, similarly cursed, planned to give to the headmaster, but instead was accidentally ingested by Ron. Ron is treated for the poison, though unconsciously admits his love for Hermione, sending Lavender into emotional withdrawal. As of result of Ron's near-death experience, Harry chases Draco to the toilets, and after a brief fight, uses the Sectumsempra curse from the Half-Blood Prince's book, severely injuring Draco. Snape arrives, drawn by the Unbreakable Vow, and heals Draco while Harry retreats. Ginny, admitting her love for Harry, convinces him to hide the book in the Room of Requirement so that he won't be tempted to use its secrets again. After making him close his eyes, Ginny hides away the book and gives Harry a brief kiss when she returns.

With the use of a Luck potion won earlier in the term and his reputation with Slughorn, Harry manages to arrange for the professor to get drunk alongside Hagrid. Harry convinces Slughorn to provide the necessary memory of Riddle's request in his stupor. The memory reveals that Riddle was seeking information on Horcruxes, devices that store a portion of the creator's soul to allow them to be immortal unless the items are destroyed. Dumbledore recognizes that Riddle's diary and his mother's ring were two of seven Horcruxes that Riddle had created, and that they must track these down and destroy them to make Voldemort mortal. After learning the location of another Horcrux, Dumbledore requests Harry's help to retrieve it, as it requires a test of willpower. Deep inside a seaside cave, Harry is forced to make Dumbledore drink a foul liquid that hides the Horcrux. Though Dumbledore is weakened by the liquid, he is able to defend them from a horde of inferi and return to the Astronomy Tower at Hogwarts.

Dumbledore sends Harry to fetch Snape for help, but Draco appears as he is leaving forcing Harry to hide and observe. Draco attempts to kill Dumbledore; however, as Dumbledore expected based on the earlier assassination attempts, Draco cannot follow through. Bellatrix and other Death Eaters, invading the school through the repaired Vanishing Cabinet, arrive and attempt to support Draco. Snape also arrives, motioning Harry to stay hidden, and joins the Death Eaters. Snape then casts the spell Avada Kedavra on Dumbledore, killing him and knocking his body over the side of the tower. Snape, Draco, and the other Death Eaters depart the school, Bellatrix casting the Death Eaters' sign over the school, destroying the Great Hall and setting fire to Hagrid's hut in glee. Harry tries to stop them with the Sectumsempra spell, but Snape deflects it and stuns him. As Snape departs, he reveals that he is the Half-Blood Prince and the creator of the spell.

The staff and students mourn Dumbledore's death. Harry is comforted by Ginny, but refused to talk further of the issue with Professor McGonagall when she asks. Later, Harry reveals to Ron and Hermione that the Horcrux they got was a fake, containing a message from an "R.A.B." that stated he had already taken it, but is also seeking to end Voldemort's life. Harry tells his friends that he does not plan to return next year, instead seeking out R.A.B. and the other Horcruxes so that he may put an end to Voldemort; Ron and Hermione remind Harry that they are his friends and that they don't plan to let him try to get the Horcruxes alone and will help alongside him in his goal. Saya adalah anak pertama dan saya memiliki 2 adik laki-laki. Adik pertama saya adalah Fitra Adipura, nama panggilannya adalah Empit, sedangkan adik saya yang kedua bernama Feri Nugraha. Hingga saat ini saya tinggal bersama kedua orang tua saya. Agama saya Islam.

Saya masuk sekolah taman kanak-kanak di TK. Kemala Bhayangkari 11 pada tahun 1996 saat saya masih berumur 5 tahun. Guru-guru yang mengajari saya pada waktu itu adalah Bu Lilis, Bu Ika dan Bu Ati. PERSEPSI TENTANG BAHASA INDONESIA

Bahasa Indonesia adalah bahasa nasional bagi bangsa kita dan menurut saya pelajaran bahasa Indonesia itu cukup menarik. Disini kita tidak hanya dituntut untuk pandai atau terlatih berbicara saja, tetapi kita juga belajar bagaimana cara membaca mendengar juga menulis yang baik. Materi-materi tersebut tentu akan sangat berguna bagi kita dalam aplikasi kehidupan sehari-hari. Misalnya seperti, menulis surat ke suatu instansi, diskusi dalam suatu forum dan sebagainya yang dapat berguna bagi karier kita di masa depan kelak. Namun selain itu, saya juga terkadang merasa kesulitan dalam menghadapi pelajaran ini. Pelajarannya mungkin terlihat mudah, namun terasa sulit ketika mengerjakannya. Contohnya, ketika menjawab pertanyaan dalam bentuk pilihan ganda, terkadang saya kesulitan untuk memilih jawaban mana yang paling tepat diantara opsen-opsen yang ada. Jawaban yang satu dan yang lainnya hampir sama dan menjebak. Contoh yang lain adalah kesulitan dalam merangkai kata-kata dalam bentuk cerita, baik itu narasi, deskripsi ataupun yang lain.

Saya harap pelajaran bahasa Indonesia ini dapat memberikan saya keterampilan-keterampilan dalam membaca, menulis, berbicara juga mendengarkan yang tentunys dapat saya manfaatkan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari dan masa depan. Saya juga sedikit prihatin mengenai pemakaian bahasa di kalangan para remaja saat ini. Sering saya mendengar kata-kata yang sepatutnya tidak pantas diucapkan dalam obolan-obrolan. Hal itu membuat saya jengkel dan berpikir alangkah baiknya mereka menggunakan bahasa yang lebih sopan daripada dinilai orang lain memilki kepribadian yang buruk. Sinopsis Novel AAC dan Komentar saya

AYAT-AYAT CINTA

Novel ini bercerita tentang perjalanan cinta dua anak manusia yang berbeda latar belakang dan budaya. Mereka adalah Fahri dan Aisha. Fahri adalah mahasiswa Indonesia yang sedang studi di Mesir, sedangkan Aisha adalah mahasiswi asal Jerman yang kebetulan juga sedang studi disana. Fahri juga adalah seorang murid dari Syaikh Utsman Abdul Fattah, seorang syaikh yang cukup terkenal di Mesir.

Pertemuan Fahri dan Aisha berawal dalam sebuah metro. Ada 3 orang warga asing berkewarganegaraan Amerika yang naik ke dalam metro. Salah seorang dari mereka adalah nenek yang kelihatan kelelahan. Aisha mempersilakan nenek itu duduk di kursinya. Sementara itu orang-orang Mesir yang ada di metro tersebut protes terhadap tindakan Aisha dan memakinya. Lalu datanglah Fahri meredakan perdebatan sengit tersebut dan disitulah mereka berkenalan.

Fahri tinggal di sebuah apartemen sederhana bersama keempat orang temannya. Meskipun bertetangga dengan seorang keluarga Kristen Koptik, Fahri dapat menjalin hubungan yang baik dengan keluarga tersebut terutama dengan Maria. Suatu hari, Fahri melihat Noura disiksa oleh ayahnya, Bahadur. Fahri tidak tega melihat kejadian tersebut lalu menelpon Maria agar ia mau menolongnya. Terkuaklah bahwa Noura ingin dijual ayahnya ke tempat pelacuran dan ternyata Bahadur itu bukanlah ayah kandungnya. Singkat cerita, Fahri mempertemukan Noura dengan keluarga aslinya dengan bantuan teman-temannya di KBRI. Noura memberikan sebuah surat cinta kepada Fahri.

Guru talaqqi Fahri, Syeikh Utsman menawakan Fahri untuk melakukan taaruf dengan kemenakan mantan muridnya. Pada awalnya ia menolaknya, namun akhirnya menerima tawaran itu juga. Dan tak disangka perempuan itu adalah Aisha. Ia bersyukur pada Allah karena telah menemukan jodohnya. Pernikahan pun dilangsungkan dengan sangat meriah. Fahri dan Aisha terlihat sangat bahagia. Namun di sisi lain hati Nurul hancur karena ia mencintai Fahri. Kini, sikap Nurul menjadi dingin kepada Fahri terlebih lagi Maria yang tahu akan hal itu sepulangnya dari Hurgada.

Suatu malam Maria ditabrak oleh orang suruhan Bahadur karena telah menolong Noura. Maria mengetahui kejahatan Bahadur yang telah memperkosa Noura. Ia kemudian dibawa ke rumah sakit. Sementara itu di rumah Fahri sedang ada keluarga Nurul yang meminta Fahri untuk menikahi Nurul. Lalu Aisha mendapat kabar tentang keadaan Maria di rumah sakit. Tak lama kemudian datanglah polisi Mesir menangkap Fahri dengan tuduhan telah memperkosa Noura. Fahri dipenjara dan Aisha meminta bantuan kesana kemari untuk membebaskan Fahri. Sementara itu Syeikh Utsman meninggal. Sidang pun digelar dan Noura memfitnah Fahri telah memperkosanya. Fahri mencoba untuk mengajukan surat cinta Noura namun surat itu tidak ditemukan. Lalu Fahri mengajukan Maria sebagai saksi karena menurutnya Marialah saksi kuncinya.

Aisha mencoba membuat Maria sembuh dengan mengeluarkan Fahri dari penjara selama 3 jam dan meminta Fahri untuk menikahinya. Awalnya Fahri menolak namun akhirnya setuju juga. Pernikahan pun dilangsungkan di rumah sakit dan tak beberapa lama Maria dapat sadarkan diri. Persidangan Fahri pun digelar kembali dengan Maria sebagai saksi belum selesai Maria memberikan keterangannya, Noura berdiri dan mengakui bahwa ia telah memfitnah Fahri dan Bahadurlah yang memperkosanya. Fahri pun bebas.

Maria kini tinggal bersama Fahri dan Aisha. Kehidupan mereka bertiga awalnya kurang harmonis. Namun keadaan berubah setelah Fahri menjemput Aisha yang pada awalnya memutuskan pergi ke Turki. Mereka bertiga kini sudah bisa menerima keadaan. Maria kembali jatuh sakit, sementara itu kehamilan Aisha makin membesar. Maria memanggil Fahri dan Aisha dan meminta maaf pada mereka, lalu meminta Fahri mengajarinya salat. Mereka bertiga salat berjamaah bersama dan setelah selesai salat Fahri dan Aisha menyadari bahwa Maria telah pergi dalam salatnya itu.

Komentar mengenai novel AAC :

Menurut saya novel Ayat-Ayat Cinta ini adalah novel yang benar-benar bagus. Terdapat unsur gabungan antara novel Islami, cinta dan budaya dalam novel ini. Tidak seperti kebanyakan novel lainnya yang saya temui yang bercerita tentang kehidupan para remaja yang penuh dengan kebebasan dan kisah percintaan yang umumnya terjadi di masyarakat. Novel seperti inilah yang saya rasa cocok dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat, khususnya kalangan para remaja sehingga kita senantiasa hidup dalam naungan Islami yang dapat terus memupuk hati kita agar bisa menjadi orang yang lebih baik lagi. Sehingga apapun yang kita kerjakan, apapun yang kita ucapkan, semuanya berdasarkan pada ajaran agama kita, yaitu Islam. Kita dekat dengan Allah.

Pemakaian kata-kata dalam novel AAC ini dapat saya pahami. Pemilihan katanya pun baik. Saya jadi tahu akan banyak hal tentang Islam dan membuat saya lebih mengerti akan kebesaran Allah, seperti penjelasan Fahri mengenai surat An-Nisa tentang istri yang berlaku nusyu, makna pengorbanan dan ikhlas dalam Islam dan yang paling penting adalah saya merasakan keagungan dan kebesaran Allah serta agama Islam saat membacanya.

OPINI

` Setiap orang pasti memiliki definisi tersendiri tentang kecantikan. Tetapi menurut saya, kecantikan itu adalah suatu keindahan yang dimiliki setiap perempuan yang terpancar dari hati atau dari dalam diri seseorang. Saya menilai ada orang yang melihat kecantikan itu dari luar dan ada pula yang dari dalam. Saya tidak sependapat dengan pernyataan banyak orang yang mendefinisikan bahwa seorang perempuan itu terlihat cantik karena hanya memiliki kulit yang putih, berambut lurus, memakai make-up yang menarik dan sebagainya sehingga menarik kaum laki-laki untuk memandangnya. Sebab saya pikir, setiap perempuan itu cantik dan itu adalah salah satu anugerah terbesar yang diberikan oleh Yang Maha Kuasa yang patut kita syukuri. Namun yang tersulit adalah mencari seorang perempuan yang memiliki kecantikan dari dalam atau yang sering kita sebut dengan “inner beauty”. Sebab apabila perilaku, pikiran, jiwa dan hati sudah terlihat “cantik”, tentu aura kecantikan itu akan terpancar dengan sendirinya dalam wujud kebiasaan kita sehari-hari.

Seorang perempuan yang bolehlah dikatakan sempurna dalam hal penampilan fisiknya, belum tentu memiliki jiwa yang cantik juga. Sebab kecantikan fisik itu bersifat dinamis, berubah seiring berjalannya waktu. Masa kanak-kanak, masa remaja dan masa tua tentulah berbeda dan kita akan mengalami perubahan bentuk pada fisik kita. Wajah yang kita rawat dengan berbagai obat/produk-produk kecantikan akan mengkerut pada masa tua. Tangan dan kaki yang setiap hari kita beri lotion agar selalu putih dan halus akan menjadi kasar dan keriput pada masa tua. Juga rambut yang kita buat lurus, yang kita rawat dengan perawatan salon yang mahal, akan menjadi rambut yang beruban di masa tua. Dan itu semua sudah menjadi kodrat manusia yang tidak bisa dipungkiri keadaannya. Itu semua akan terasa sia-sia jika hanya penampilan fisik saja yang kita rawat.

Tetapi jika kita merawat dan menjaga anugerah itu tadi dengan menjaga kecantikan rohani kita juga, tentu itu semua tidak akan terasa sia-sia. Hati, jiwa, perilaku dan pikiran yang kita rawat dengan hal-hal yang baik, akan mendorong itu semua terpancar lewat perilaku kita. Rambut lita tidak rusak karena bahayanya bahan kimia dari produk-produk rambut, kulit dan wajah kita juga terlihat alami apa adanya. Senyum selalu menghiasi wajah kita, senang menolong orang lain, mempelajari dan memahami apa yang terjadi di lingkungan alam sekitar kita, itu saja sudah memancarkan aura kecantikan dari dalam diri kita. Dan satu hal lagi yang tidak kalah penting adalah kita memiliki kepribadian yang baik, yang mana kepribadian antara seseorang dan orang lain itu tentu berbeda. Dengan kepribadian, orang bisa mengetahui seperti apa kita, seberapa jauh orang bisa menerima kita dan sebagainya. Dan hal yang lain lagi adalah potensi. Dengan potensi yang kita miliki, kita memiliki suatu kewajiban yang harus kita kembangkan dari potensi tersebut yang tentunya bisa bermanfaat baik bagi dirinya sendiri maupun orang lain.

Jadi kesimpulannya, saya tidak sependapat dengan pernyataan bahwa perempuan cantik itu adalah perempuan yang hanya berkulit putih, berambut panjang, yang memakai make-up dan sebagainya. Perempuan cantik itu adalah perempuan yang bisa merawat “inner beauty” yang ia miliki, yang merawat anugerah Tuhan itu dengan baik, yang memiliki kepribadian yang baik dan memiliki potensi diri yang baik pula. Namun bukan menutup kemungkinan untuk tidak merawat penampilan fisiknya, tetapi tetap dalam batasan-batasan yang wajar. Sebab kecantikan fisik akan sia-sia jika kita tidak merawatnya dengan kecantikan rohani kita juga. Cantik itu datang dari dalam, bukan dari luar.

PERSEPSI TENTANG BAHASA INDONESIA

Bahasa Indonesia adalah bahasa nasional bagi bangsa kita dan menurut saya pelajaran bahasa Indonesia itu cukup menarik. Disini kita tidak hanya dituntut untuk pandai atau terlatih berbicara saja, tetapi kita juga belajar bagaimana cara membaca mendengar juga menulis yang baik. Materi-materi tersebut tentu akan sangat berguna bagi kita dalam aplikasi kehidupan sehari-hari. Misalnya seperti, menulis surat ke suatu instansi, diskusi dalam suatu forum dan sebagainya yang dapat berguna bagi karier kita di masa depan kelak. Namun selain itu, saya juga terkadang merasa kesulitan dalam menghadapi pelajaran ini. Pelajarannya mungkin terlihat mudah, namun terasa sulit ketika mengerjakannya. Contohnya, ketika menjawab pertanyaan dalam bentuk pilihan ganda, terkadang saya kesulitan untuk memilih jawaban mana yang paling tepat diantara opsen-opsen yang ada. Jawaban yang satu dan yang lainnya hampir sama dan menjebak. Contoh yang lain adalah kesulitan dalam merangkai kata-kata dalam bentuk cerita, baik itu narasi, deskripsi ataupun yang lain.

Saya harap pelajaran bahasa Indonesia ini dapat memberikan saya keterampilan-keterampilan dalam membaca, menulis, berbicara juga mendengarkan yang tentunys dapat saya manfaatkan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari dan masa depan. Saya juga sedikit prihatin mengenai pemakaian bahasa di kalangan para remaja saat ini. Sering saya mendengar kata-kata yang sepatutnya tidak pantas diucapkan dalam obolan-obrolan. Hal itu membuat saya jengkel dan berpikir alangkah baiknya mereka menggunakan bahasa yang lebih sopan daripada dinilai orang lain memilki kepribadian yang buruk. Karena saya pikir kepribadian seseorang pun dapat dilihat dari bahasa yang digunakan sehari-hari.

Saya berharap pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia ini dapat lebih baik lagi dan menyenangkan dari tahun-tahun sebelumnya. Baik guru maupun siswa dapat menciptakan suasana belajar yang menyenangkan, tertib namun tidak membuat kita gugup atau tegang tetapi tetap terarah juga teratur sesuai dengan tujuan pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia itu sendiri.
